SEX AND THE CITY

Sex and the City is about 4 women living in New York. There's Carrie, who writes a sex column for a local paper...Samantha, a P/R exec...Miranda, a lawyer...and Charlotte, an art dealer. The show chronicles the relationship adventures of these 4 very different friends. And since Carrie is a columnist, each episode is bookended by her typing her column. At the beginning, she poses a question, setting the theme for the episode. At the end, she draws a conclusion to the question, based on the experiences of the episode.

Over the whole series, the main themes we see are...

1) Carrie's on/off relationship with Mr. Big

2) Samanthat's extreme promiscuity

3) Miranda's desire for independence contrasted with her fear of dying alone

4) Charlotte's desperate quest to get married and be a perfect Park Avenue wife

#5 Running With Scissors

(season 3)

Carrie's affair with Big ends abrubtly when his wife comes home to find Carrie in their house. Carrie tries to run away, but Natasha chases her, falls down the stairs, and knocks out a tooth. Carrie ends things with Big...again...for now...Also, Miranda is sexually harassed by a sandwich:

#4 Pick a Little, Talk a Little

(season 6)

Carrie regrets criticizing a small detail in boyfriend Berger's first novel, Samantha gets to know her boy toy Smith a little better, Miranda is liberated by the advice "He's just not that into you", and Charlotte gets impatient waiting for Harry to propose.

Note: I detest the character of Berger.

#3 They Shoot Single People, Don' They?

(season 2)

After a late night, Carrie arrives late (and very disheveled) to a photo shoot for New York magazine and ends up on the cover - as is - with the title "Single and Fabulous?" The article paints being single in a negative light prompting the women to latch on to the next available guy.

#2 Hot Child in the City

(season 3)

Carrie meets a comic book guy who still lives with his parents, Samantha plans a bat mitzvah for a very precocious teen, and Miranda gets braces.

#1 The Post-It Always Sticks Twice

(season 6)

After being broken up with via Post-It note, Carrie and friends go to a new club. After running into her ex's friends, Carrie makes some regrettable comments and tops off the evening by being arrested...or almost arrested - best scene of the whole episode!!!
